AdapaA simple and efficient protocol for the synthesis of 2-aminothiophenes via Gewald reaction from ketones with an active nitrile or ethyl ester and elemental sulphur using CaO, a cheapest catalyst ever reported in moderate to good yield in ethanol under reflux in 1 to 1.5 h.
