Abstract
Environmentally Benign Synthesis of 1-Amidoalkyl-2-Naphthols by Using Citrus limon Juice
Author(s): Monika Patil, Shrikrishna Karhale, Panchsheela Ubale, Vasant HelaviFruit juice of Citrus limon (lemon juice) has been utilized as a natural, green and eco-friendly reagent for the synthesis of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthols by one-pot multicomponent reaction of 2-naphthol with a variety of aryl aldehydes and urea/amides. The beneficial features of this new synthetic approach include short reaction time, cleaner reaction profile and easy work up procedure.
