Abstract
Phytochemical investigation of the hexane extract of stem bark of Peltophorum pterocarpum (DC.)

Jash, Arindam Gangopadhyay, Atasi Sarkar and Dilip GoraiThe chemical investigation of the stem bark of Peltophorum pterocarpum (DC.) belonging to the family Leguminosae/Fabaceae led to the isolation of four phytoconstituents namely Stigmasterol, β-Sitosterol, Lupeol and Lupenone. The isolated compounds were characterized using various spectroscopic data as well as chemical studies. Out of the four compounds isolated, lupenone has been isolated for the first time from the plant.
