Abstract
Synthesis and antimicrobial activity of some new tetrahydrothienopyridopyrimidine derivatives

KhedekarA series of novel 3-amino-7-(phenylmethyl)-2-phenylamino-5,6,7,8-tetrahydropyrido [4',3':4,5] thieno[2,3 d]pyrimidine were prepared by simple, appropriate and shortest synthetic route in which piperidine , ethyl cyanoacetate , sulfur, morpholine were treated with substituted anilines in the presence of dry pyridine. Structures of the newly synthesized compounds were assigned on the basis of FTIR, 1HNMR and Mass spectral studies. The newly synthesized compounds were tested for their in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activity against a variety of microorganism.
