Abstract
Synthesis and antimicrobial evaluation of urea and thiourea derivatives of sulfonic acid
Author(s): Rashmi Singh, Komal Jakhar, Priti Sharma and G. Vinoth Kumar4-Ureido-bezenesulfonic acids and 4-thioureido-benzenesulfonic acids have been synthesized by reaction of differently substituted ureas and thioureas with sulfanilic acid in presence of H2O as green solvent using microwave irradiations. The structure of the compounds has been confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, mass and elemental analysis. All the synthesized compounds have been screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activities using micro broth dilution assay.
