Abstract
Synthesis, characterization and antioxidant evaluation of a novel series of chalcone derivatives bearing 2-hydroxyquinoline moiety
Author(s): Nkurunziza Jean Baptiste and Balakrishna KallurayaA new series of chalcone derivatives bearing 2-hydroxyquinoline and phenoxy acetic acidmoieties(7a-i) were synthesized. The structures of these newly synthesized compounds were elucidated by their IR, 1H NMR and mass spectral data. All the synthesized compounds were screened for their antioxidant activity by DPPH radical scavenging assay, and all tested compounds showed significant activities
