Synthesis of (2-methyl-1,8-naphthyridin-3-yl)(4-methyl-3-arylpyrazolo[3,4- c]pyrazol-6(2H)-yl)methanone

Laxminarayana and M.Thirumala Chary*Ethylacetoacetate reacts 2-Methyl-1,8-naphthyridin-3-hydrazide to in ethanol to give 2- Pyrazolone which on condensation with various aldehydes affords the related arylidine derivatives (3a-e). Cyclisation of arylidines form (4-Methyl-3-arylpyrazolo[3,4-c]pyrazol-6(2H)- yl)(1,8-naphthyridin-6-yl)methanone (4a-e).
