Abstract
Synthesis of novel heterocyclic compounds and their biological evaluation
Author(s): Avnish A. Patel, Arvind G. MehtaSome new N4-[4,6-diarylsubstituted-2-pyrimidinyl]-6-methoxy-2-methyl-4-quinolinamine 3a-h were synthesized and studied for their microbicidal efficacy. These compounds were prepared from chalcones 1a-h on cyclized with guanidine nitrate, yielded 4-(substituted phenyl)-6- (substituted phenyl)-2-pyrimidinamine 2a-h and then refluxing with 4-chloro-6-methoxy-2- methylquinoline yield the title compounds 3a-h. All the compounds were characterized by elemental analysis and spectral studies. The newly synthesized compounds were evaluated for their antibacterial and antifungal activity.
