ABSTRACT

A new class of α-aminophoshonic acid esters (3a-j) has been synthesized by equimolar quantities of Schiff’s bases, diethyl/dimethyl hydrogen phosphites in dry ethanol at refluxing conditions using TMG as a catalyst via Pudovik reaction in high yields (71-87%). The structures of the title compounds have been established by elemental analysis, IR, 1H-, 13C- & 31P- NMR and Mass spectral analysis. They were found to possess significant anti-microbial activity.
