ABSTRACT
Some new 3-chloro-4-(phenyl substituted)-1-[5-pyridin-4-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2yl] azetidine 2-one derivatives (5a-e) have been synthesized by the reaction of INH(1) with potassium thio cynate. On further condensation with conc H2SO4 to form 5-(pyridine-4-yl)-1,3,4-thiazol-2-amine. The compound react with various aldehyde which on cyclo addition with chloroacetyl chloride and triethylamine in DMF. These compounds were characterized by their spectral data. The title compounds were found to be efficient antibacterial agents on evolution.
