ABSTRACT

A series of new α-amino phosphonates have been synthesised via one-pot reaction by reacting 2-hydroxy aniline with aromatic aldehydes and dimethyl phosphite in dry toluene under reflux conditions in the absence of catalyst. All the newly synthesized α-amino phosphonates (4a-j) were established by elemental analysis, IR, 1H, 13C, 31P NMR spectroscopy and Mass spectrometry. They were found to possess significant anti-microbial activity.
