ABSTRACT
Some new derivatives of 4-phenyl-5-[5'-(3''-chloro-2''-oxo-4''-substitutedaryl-1''-azetidinyl)-1',3',4'-oxadiazol-2'-yl]-6-methyl-3,4-dihydropyrimidine-2-one and 4-phenyl-5-[5'-(2''-substitutedaryl- 4' '-oxo -1'',3''- thiazolidin -3''-yl) -1',3',4 '-oxadiazol-2'-yl]- 6- methyl-3,4-dihydro pyrimidin -2-one have been synthesized by reacting different substituted Schiff bases with chloroacetyl chloride and thioglycolic acid, respectively. The structures of synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR and 1H-NMR data. Antimicrobial activities of compounds were investigated using the standard method against different bacterial and fungal strains in comparison with standard drugs. Microbiological results indicated that the synthesized compounds possess a board spectrum of activity.
