Abstract
Assessment of N,N-dimethylamine-N-ethylamine chitosan for antimicrobial activity

Yeul and Pundlik Rambhau BhagatAntibacterial and antifungal activity of synthesized N-N-dimetylamine N-ethylamine chitosan were studied against E.coli, P.aeruginosa, S. aureus, S. pyogenes and A.niger, A. clavatus and C. albicans respectively. The result showed that the remarkable inhibition of the bacterial growth against the tested organisms. The microbial activity of N-N-dimetylamine N-ethylamine chitosan was due to presence of amino groups along the polymer chain and hence can be used in the development of new pharmaceutical activities.
