Abstract
Facile Synthesis of 1,2-dimethyl-5-aryl-1H-imidazole Derivatives Under Ultrasonic Irradiation
Author(s): Madhavi Changa and Krishnendu Biswas*Herein we report a novel synthesis method using an efficient Suzuki coupling reaction of 5-bromo-1,2-dimethyl-1H-imidazole and aryl boronic acids, catalyzed by palladium acetate catalyst for the formation of 1,2-dimethyl-5-aryl-1H-imidazole derivatives under ultrasonic irradiation. Using this method, the title compounds were synthesized in a very short time with excellent yields. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass spectroscopy.
