N-Acylation in non-aqueous and aqueous medium- method of amide synthesis in non-peptide compounds

Gore*2N-acylation in non-aqueous and aqueous medium i.e. Schotten-Baumann method of amide synthesis with carboxylic acid activating reagent such as thionyl chloride and Phosphinehalogen reagents have been discussed. Limitations, alternatives and applications of these reagents are illustrated.
