Abstract
Phytochemical investigation of the hexane extract of stem bark of Bauhinia Purpurea Linn.

BhobeThe chemical investigation of the stem bark of B. purpurea belonging to the family Leguminosae led to the isolation of nine phytoconstituents namely, Myristic acid, Octadecanoic acid, 9,12-Octadecadienoic acid, isopropyl-24- methyl-pentacosanoate, Stigmasterol, β-Amyrin, β-Sitosterol, Lupeol and ethyl 9,12- Hexadecadienoate. The isolated compounds were characterized using various spectrometric data. These compounds have been reported for the first time from the n-hexane extract of the stem bark of B. purpurea.
