Abstract
Studies on Quinoline Based Monoazo Disperse Dyes
Author(s): Jitendra H. Tandel and Arvind G. MehtaFourteen 4-R-azo-3-[2-methyl-6-ethoxy-4-quinolinyl)amino]phenol disperse dyes II (a-n) were prepared by coupling of 3-[2-methyl-6-ethoxy-4-quinolinyl]aminophenol with various diazo components [R= a-n]. The synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental and spectral analysis and their dyeing performance on polyesters fabrics were assessed. The compounds when applied on polyesters fabrics gave brown, yellow and grey shades with poor to good light fastness, very good to excellent wash fastness and poor to excellent exhaustion.
