Abstract
Synthesis and biological activities of some triazolothiadiazoles containing ibuprofen moiety

Suchetha KumariIn the present study, anew series of 6-(5-aryl-2-furyl)-3-[1-(4-isobutylphenyl)ethyl]-[1,2,4]-triazolo-[3,4-b][1,3,4]- thiadiazoles (7a-l) were synthesized by the condensation of 4-amino-5-[1-(4-isobutylphenyl)ethyl]-3-mercapto- [1,2,4]-triazole (6) with various substituted aryl furoic acidsin good yield. The newly synthesized compounds were confirmed on the basis of elemental analyses, IR, 1H NMRand Mass spectral data. All compounds were screened for their antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity. Among the synthesized compounds 7a, 7b, 7d, 7e, 7f, 7g and 7l exhibited good antibacterial activity and compounds 7b, 7h, 7i and 7l exhibited very good anti-inflammatory activity.
