Abstract
Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial activities of imidazo-[2,1,b][1,3,4]-thiadiazoles

Lobo, Jennifer Fernandes and Chandrashekhar C.A series of imidazo[2,1-b][1,3,4]-thiadiazoles (6a-p) were synthesized by a condensation reaction of 2-amino-5- substituted-[1,3,4]thidiazoles (5a-b) with various substituted phenacyl bromides. All structures of the newly synthesized compounds were elucidated by elemental analyses and spectral data. The new compounds were tested for their in vitro antimicrobial activities.
