Synthesis, Characterization, Antibacterial and Anticancer Activity of Some Novel Triazolyl Chromenone Derivatives

A series of newer seventeen coumarin linked 1,2,3-triazole derivatives have been synthesised by utilising the approach of click chemistry. All of the synthesised compounds have been well characterized by an array of spectroscopic techniques such as 1H, 13C-NMR and MS. These compounds have been screened for antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative strains. In addition 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay was performed to determine cytotoxicity against two cell lines e.g., HOP-62 and Colo-205. Among the tested compounds 3a and 3k displayed promising activity.
