Abstract
Synthesis, Spectral Characterization and Biological Studies of mercapto triazole Schiff bases

SatheSynthesis of a series of 4-(2’/3’/4’-nitrobenzelideneimino) -3-methyl/ethyl-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole by the condensation of 4-amino-5-mercapto-3-methyl/ethyl-1,2,4-triazole with 2/3/4 nitrobenzaldehyde. The synthesized compounds were characterized by CHN analysis, IR, 1H-NMR, UV-Visible and mass spectral studies. These compounds were tested for antimicrobial activities against Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans. All the Schiff bases were also screened for their anticancer activity.
