A facile synthesis of 8-chloro-11-(4-fluorophenyl)-6, 11-dihydro-5H-benzo [5,6] cyclohepta [1, 2-b] pyridin-11-ol

Pai , Sandesh Vishwasrao and Deepnandan DubahshiThis study aimed at evaluating the Sedative activity of structurally diverse derivatives of lead compound 8-chloro- 11-(4-fluorophenyl)-6,11-dihydro-5H-benzo[5,6]cyclohepta[1,2-b] pyridin-11-ol; synthesized via straightforward and efficient synthetic process. The structures of the compounds were characterized by spectral data (IR and 1HNMR). The work was extended to study the potential role of the novel derivatives as anti-Parkinson agents.
