A Revision of the Biginelli Reaction: A Combined Experimental and Pharmacological Investigation
Author(s): Shweta S Jadhav, Kavita T Daware, Kshitij S Varma, Khushbhu Patil, Shital J Patil, Ganesh U Chaturbhuj and Tushar N Lokhande*Multicomponent reactions, characterized as synthetic procedures that connect three or more substrates in a highly regio and stereo-selective way to deliver structurally complex organic molecules, have seen a tremendous growth in use in the field in organic synthesis. We highlighted the recent advancements in the the synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones which is a multicomponent Biginelli reaction. Several important Biginelli reactions and advances are also reported.
