Floating matrix tablets were developed to prolong gastric residence time and increase drug absorption further increasing the bioavailability. Various forms of gastro retentive drug delivery system, such as floating and non-floating. Floating tablets was formulated to increase gastric residence and there by improve its therapeutic efficacy.
