Description and Synthesis of Benzylidene Compound

Benzylidene is not a specific compound, but rather a functional group that can be found in various organic molecules. The benzylidene functional group is a carbon-carbon double bond (C=C) that is attached to a benzene ring. In this answer, I will describe the general synthesis and characterization of compounds containing a benzylidene functional group.
